Repeat Prescriptions                                                                                   

Repeat prescriptions can be ordered by:

• Using a number of Apps including the NHS App 
• Using the  white slip attached to your prescription 
• Using online patient triage via https://florey.accurx.com/p/B81004 

The benefits of using the NHS App are that you can see at a glance if your message has been received by the pharmacy and also when it has been dealt with. You are able to send a short message along with your order and specify where you wish to collect your medication from etc.  The pharmacy are able to comment if there are any queries regarding your order and the patient is able to see these comments when logged in.

Whichever method you choose, please clearly state the name of the repeat medication you are requesting and remember to include:   your name, address, date of birth, a contact telephone number and your patient number if known.

Dispensing your Prescription

Patients living more than a mile from the chemist may obtain their medicines from our dispensaries in Hornsea and Aldbrough. Patients living in Hornsea have to obtain their medication from a chemist.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed, or 4 working days for medication to be dispensed. Remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.

NHS charges

These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.

• Prescription (per item): £9.65
• 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £111.60
• 3-month PPC: £31.25
• A 12-month PPC for hormone replacement therapy (HRT) only is £19.30

If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 15 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.

Dispensary

Our trained staff will deal with your repeat prescriptions and dispense medicines for patients living at a distance of more than 1 mile (1.6km) from the pharmacy premises.  We can also dispense medicines for patients staying temporarily in the area.

For Minor Ailments

Many minor ailments can be treated simply and effectively using over the counter medicines available from your pharmacist.  Pharmacies offer far more medicines than other outlets and many effective non-prescription medicines can only be supplied under the supervision of a pharmacist, which means they are only available at a pharmacy.  When you ask for a medicine, your pharmacist will need to ask you some questions in order to recommend the most appropriate treatment.  Like doctors, pharmacists have a professional code which means that all personal information you give them will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Home Delivery Service

We are now able to offer a free daytime delivery service to dispensing patients.

Patients will need to register for this service by completing and returning the form contained in the leaflet below.  As the form requires a signature we are unable to accept registration via email.
